Sample Letter of Intent:  In Kentucky, you will need to send a letter of your intention to homeschool your children to the Director of Pupil Personnel in your school district within two weeks of the beginning of public school each fall.  For local names and addresses, see the list below. Homeschool Legal Defense Association:  HSLDA's mission is "to preserve and advance the fundamental, God-given, constitutional right of parents and others legally responsible for their children to direct their education."  In addition to legal assistance, HSLDA provides a host of other services helpful to any homeschool family.  These services include connection to a homeschool mentor, help for homeschooling in high school, access to the HSLDA used curriculum market, and more.
